
1. Test dates:
(1) Local students: Saturday, August 21, 2021
(2) Overseas Chinese students, foreign students and students of joint registration and placement-based admission: Wednesday, September 8, 2021
2. Test sessions:
August 21: Morning session--10:00 ~ 12:30 & Afternoon session--14:00 ~ 16:30
September 8: Afternoon session--14:00~16:30
Each student only needs to participate in one session, and the test sessions are arranged by the Language Center.
3. Test Information: Detailed information will be announced on the website of the Language Center by 16:00 on Wednesday, August 18 and Friday, September 3 respectively.
4. Eligible test-takers:
(1) All freshmen (four-year undergraduate students enrolled in the 110 academic year) are required to take the test, but those who are eligible for an exemption shall apply for the exemption beforehand.
(2) Students who were enrolled before the 107 academic year and have not taken the Freshman English Placement Test, and transfer students

※Important Notes:
(A) Required Equipment: (1) a computer or laptop, (2) a cellphone, and (3) headphones or earphones
(B) Make sure both your computer and cellphone can be connected to the internet stably during the test.
(C) The headphones are connected to the computer for listening comprehension questions.
(D) You are required to log in to a Google Meet meeting session with your camera turned on throughout the whole test session for test administration and supervision.
(E) You have to test your headphones and adjust the audio volume before the test starts to avoid any sound problems during the test.
(F) You will follow the instructions given to you by the test supervisor via Google Meet before you log in to the test website and start the test online.
(G) Test Supervision: (1) Make sure you have a photo ID and your student ID card ready for verification before the test starts. (2) After you log in to the test, place the cellphone in a position with the camera on in a way that you and your computer screen can be clearly seen from behind by the test supervisor during the whole test.
NOTE: The test is about 50 to 60 minutes. Make sure your cellphone is fully charged (you may want to keep it charged during the test just in case).
D. Oxford Placement Test:
This is an adaptive English test. You will be assigned questions of different levels based on your accuracy rate. The test consists of approximately 45 question items and test time is about 50 to 60 minutes. There are reading and listening questions. The reading section tests your grammar, vocabulary and reading comprehension. The listening section consists of questions on understanding short talks and conversations. The test is on general English proficiency and is not focused on certain specific content areas. You can use standardized English proficiency tests for practice, such as TOEIC, GEPT, IELTS, or TOEFL.
