Wednesday, September 8, 2021, online test and online proctoring methods will be used. Please go online according to your own test date and time slot (please go online 10 minutes early and make sure the equipment is ready).

一、 Instructions:

1. Test items: "Oxford Online Placement Test". The question type is listening and reading. Tests are conducted online on the computer, no paper or pen is, and you must prepare your own headphones.

 For the online exam description, please refer to the PPT and exam key description (at the bottom).

2. Bring your ID: On the day of the test, please prepare your ID or (document with a clear photo) for verification and registration (foreign students and overseas Chinese students, please bring your residence permit or passport).

3. English credits: The English test scores if they meet the requirement, the center will apply the score for "freshman English course credits and exemptions"

if the score does not meet the requirement, the center will arrange for the student to attend freshman English

The results will be announced on (Language Center official website → application area → examination results query) before the start of the semester.

4. Test environment: Please take the test in a quiet environment and make sure that there are no other people around.

※ During the test, if the mobile phone monitoring screen or there is an unknown reason for interruption, any fraud, or suspicious behavior, the test result will not be scored.

The online test will be similar to the in-class test, and for those who make noises, their test will not be scored.

(Not scored will be regarded as failing to participate in the entrance examination)

二. Online test execution method:

1. Exam equipment: computer, headset, mobile phone.

2. Equipment settings: Both the computer and the mobile phone must be able to connect to the Internet.

(A computer for signing in to the test platform, headphones connected to the computer for listening tests, mobile phone to log in to Google Meet which should be on during the entire exam, and also for contacting the invigilators and immediate contact)

3. Volume test: Test takers should test their own headphones and adjust the audio volume before the test starts to avoid any sound problems during the test.

4. The examination: be sure to join the google meet before 14:10 (those who do not join on time will not be admitted to the meeting)

5. Invigilation process: prepare ID documents (documents with clear photos), and invigilators will check their identities one by one before the exam. After the test begins, place the mobile phone behind you and you need to be in the frame for the entire test.

※The test time is about 50 to 60 minutes. Please confirm that the mobile phone has enough battery power (the mobile phone can be charged during the test)

The account and password will be given after the identity is confirmed on the test day.

三. This online test will be conducted using the Oxford Placement Test

The test is a computer adaptive test. You will be assigned questions on different levels based on your accuracy rate. The test consist of approximately 45 question items and the test time is about 50 to 60 minutes. There are reading and listening questions. The reading section tests your grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. The listening section consists of questions on understanding short talks and conversations. The test is on general English proficiency and is not focused on certain specific content areas. You can use standardized English proficiency tests for practice, such as TOEIC, GEPT, IELTS, or TOEFL.
