📣 This lecture features Assistant Professor Duc-Thang Vo (武德勝), who pursued his degree at NTUST and, after graduation, stayed on as faculty. He shared his experiences studying and working at NTUST.
Professor Vo currently works in the College of Engineering. Back when he arrived at NTUST, he initially joined the Department of Chemical Engineering to pursue both a master’s and PhD.
During his studies, besides his regular lab work, Professor Vo actively participated in activities organized by the Vietnamese Student Association, enriching his academic journey at NTUST.
After earning his degree, he received an invitation to stay at NTUST’s College of Engineering as a project assistant professor, allowing him to give back to his alma mater. He also shared some of the challenges associated with project faculty roles, such as needing to renew his contract annually.
In addition to his teaching duties, Professor Vo continuously works on improving his courses, which has earned him recognition from the university, including the award of "Innovative Teaching Strategies and Materials Development (PBL Teaching)" and "EMI Teaching Skills Enhancement Award".
Furthermore, Professor Vo warmly welcomes students to visit him anytime for guidance and advice. You can even enjoy a drink together or take in the view from his office, which offers a spectacular look at Taipei 101!
Lastly, Professor Vo mentioned that most of the audience are international students and emphasized that Taiwan is a friendly place that supports students in whatever career paths they choose.
