📌December 3rd, 2025 Culture Experience Workshop: Traditional Chinese Knotting Meets Christmas

📣 For this workshop, we were delighted to invite Ms. Chen Yu-Ming (Teacher Hsiao-Ming), who has extensive experience in handmade craft instruction and teaches all across Taiwan. She guided our international students and Mandarin teachers in creating Chinese-knot bracelets and festive knot-work Christmas trees for the upcoming holiday season.

Teacher Hsiao-Ming began by introducing the pieces we would be making, along with the Chinese names of the materials, helping students understand the overall crafting process.

The first project was a bracelet. After listening to the teacher's explanation, students became fully engaged in creating their pieces. They could choose their own beads to incorporate into the design. Although the steps were somewhat intricate, students helped one another throughout, and the teacher walked around to assist. In the end, everyone successfully completed a unique bracelet of their own!

Next, participants worked on making the Christmas tree, which seemed to be much easier than the bracelet. By this time, everyone was more familiar with the knotting techniques. We hope you'll all bring your handmade Christmas trees to celebrate this year's holiday season 🎄

Thank you all for enjoying this “Traditional Chinese Knotting Meets Christmas” workshop. We look forward to seeing you again in future events!
