 Full-time Contract-based Instructor Wanted (Fall , 2024)

Qualifications

  1. M.A. or Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, Linguistics, Literature or Education (specialized in ESP & EAP)
  2. Extensive experience in ESL/EFL/EMI teaching, teacher training, and/or research, and administrative tasks preferred
  3. Native or near native English proficiency preferred

Duties

  1. Teaching Freshmen English and ESP/EAP courses
  2. Teaching winter/summer intensive English courses
  3. Organizing EMI workshops and developing language learning resources
  4. Teaching hours per week: 14 for lecturers and 13 for assistant professors
  5. Completing assigned administrative tasks and holding four office hours per week                  

  (two hours for student learning consultation)

  1. Implementing BEST project related tasks

7. Other tasks delegated by the center

  4. Photocopy of representative publications within 5 years
  5. Photocopy of Master and/or PhD diploma
  6. Photocopy of Master and/or PhD transcripts
  7. List of courses taught and 1 to 3 proposed course syllabi
  8. At least one recommendation letter
  9. Teacher’s certificate issued by the M.O.E., photocopies of documents, or teaching demonstration videos (links to the videos), etc. relevant to the position

  1. All application materials should arrive at the Language Center, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Room207, International Building 2nd Floor,43 Keelung Road, Sec.4, Taipei 10607, Taiwan before 5 pm, April 10, 2024.
  2. Please specify “Application for Full-time Contract-based Instructor at the Language Center” on the envelope.
  3. In addition to the paper application package, please also save all these application materials as a PDF file and send it to: si0142191@mail.ntust.edu.tw
  4. An interview will be arranged for qualified applicants (a teaching demonstration will be required). Please provide an e-mail address and a phone number at which you can be reached.
  5. If you wish your documents to be returned to you, please indicate it and enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.
